POSITION SUMMARY

Under direct supervision of the Staff Attorney, provide analytical and paralegal support for the delivery of legal services for the UCLA Undocumented Student Program in partnership with the UC Immigrant Legal Services Center. Serve as a knowledge manager for data, correspondence, subject matter files, reports, and other documentation associated with legal matters handled by the office. Work with attorneys in the preparation and filing of all immigration applications, FOIAs, state court filings, responding to correspondence with government agencies. Perform analytical research and gather information for the preparation of immigrations legal documents. Responsible for preparing DACA, Adjustment of Status, SIJS, Naturalization and other applications to USCIS, DHS, and EOIR.  Under direct supervision, develop, analyze and assess processes for virtual handling of immigration applications, including motions before EOIR.  Participate in developing goals and plans for resolution and implement actions for improved systems. Maintain database and records systems.  Participate in any UC Immigrant Legal Services Center activities as needed.

Provides analysis of data and systems pertaining to projects, policies, processes and/or functions of limited scope and complexity. Under direct supervision, gathers and assembles analytical and factual data on assigned problems, legal issues, immigration matters, and cases.  Provides organizational support for legal practice area, such as organizing data in database systems and files, in accordance with established procedures. Independently perform analytical research and gather information for the preparation of legal matters of limited complexity. Performs witness/client interviews of limited scope and according to established procedures. Work with staff attorneys as well as outside law firms to obtain information. Help manage the preparation of workshops and information sessions.

Independently coordinate a variety of special projects by analyzing, researching and gathering relevant data, writing summaries on status of major projects or programs, developing spreadsheets or databases, and providing follow-up on projects to ensure deadlines are met. Assist the webmaster with website content. Participate in any UC Immigrant Legal Services Center activities and special projects as needed.
