POSITION SUMMARY | Under the general supervision of The Ashe Center Specialty Assistant Medical Director and Club Sport Medical Director and with onsite direction by the Recreation Director of Athletic Training Services, the Athletic Trainer will provide high level evaluation, management and rehabilitation to UCLA club sport student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer will support the coordination of care of the club sport athletes between the Training Room and The Ashe Center. The Athletic Trainer will assist with the concussion management program for UCLA students and UCLA club sport student-athletes and in the sports medicine and orthopedic clinics at student health. Training services will include assisting with evaluation and treatment of injuries, designing and supervising rehabilitation programs, evening and weekend event side-line coverage and training room coverage. The Athletic Trainer will also be involved in training and education of staff and campus-wide collaboration to provide comprehensive care to UCLA students and UCLA club sport athletes. | | | |

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | UCLA student and UCLA Club Sport Athlete Care at The Ashe Center | Assist with evaluation of and to provide continuity of care for club sport athletes evaluated at The Ashe Center related to injuries sustained from club sport activities. In collaboration with The Ashe Center providers, creating appropriate assessment and treatment plans for UCLA students and UCLA club sport athletes. Will assist in concussion management plan for UCLA students and club sport athletes. Record encounters in the electronic medical record. Provide counseling for UCLA students and club sport athletes on injury management and prevention and provide in-office rehabilitation instructions as needed. | 30% | Club Sport Athletic Training Services | Participate in the evaluation and treatment of injuries both in the training room and at club sport activities that occur in evenings and on weekends. Design and supervision of rehabilitation programs for club sport athletes. Assist with coordination of care between the training room and The Ashe Center or other medical providers. Uphold open communication about athletes’ clearance status with coaching and conditioning staff. Maintain documentation on athletes’ injuries, treatment and rehabilitation. Provide counseling for club sport athletes on injury management and prevention.
