POSITION SUMMARY | Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the research assistant will be responsible for assistance with screening and recruiting of study participants, study testing, administrative duties and data management and will assist with IRB submissions. This study, funded by the UC Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program, is focused on investigating the cardiovascular effects of exposure to secondhand flavored hookah smoke. | | | |
Department Summary | Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the research assistant will be responsible for assistance with screening and recruiting of study participants, study testing, administrative duties and data management and will assist with IRB submissions. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Study Coordination and Testing of Study Participants | a. Screen, recruit and enroll subjects for research study. (E) b. Facilitate recruitment of study participants by identifying and contacting IRB-approved recruitment sites including websites and college campuses. (E) c. Assist with IRB submissions as needed. (E) d. Ability to administer questionnaires, scoring results and answer participant questions as needed (E) e. Scheduling subjects for measures (e.g., blood draws) to be conducted at the CTRC (E) f. Assist with obtaining height / weight / and BP measurements (E) g. Assist in initiating/setting up subjects for study procedures including ultrasound scans (E) | 60% | Data Management and Administrative Tasks | a.
