GENERAL SUPERVISION - Indicates that the incumbent develops procedures for performance of variety of duties; or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines.


POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Nurse meets with study participants to answer questions about the research and promote communication about the study, conducts clinical research procedures that include eligibility screening, obtaining informed consent, vital signs, anthropomorphic measures, venipuncture, bio-sample collection and processing, assists with spirometry, administers questionnaires, and provides clinical and mental health referrals as indicated.  The Research Nurse will enter the clinical data into a RedCap secure HIPAA compliant tool that uploads directly into the study Data Security Core.  The Research Nurse will provide reports and summaries as requested by the PI.  The Research Nurse will maintain laboratory certifications and compliance with UCLA environmental health and safety regulations.  The Research Nurse will assist in training of students and new staff for the project.

1. Work with other grant staff to coordinate research and equipment needs for the project and other research staff for scheduled data collection. (E)
