POSITION SUMMARY | Under the general supervision of the MRED Executive Director, the MRED Director of Student Services provides a variety of student services advising and support to the UCLA Luskin's MRED students (approximately 40 students). Key responsibilities include advising students on degree requirements, academic planning, and funding opportunities, managing admissions, enrollment, and financial aid processes to ensure efficiency and compliance and collaborating with faculty leadership on curriculum planning, course scheduling, and program development. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Graduate Advising | Advise MRED students on the full range of academic and support matters, including degree requirements, capstone regulations, services, awards, financial aid, and opportunities. Monitor student progress to degree. Coordinate student Annual Academic Report program. Inform students and faculty advisers of progress. Perform degree audits for the MRED degree. Certify students for completion of degree requirements. Generate and approve appropriate petitions and forms. Record petition decisions and initiate action as necessary. Counsel students on degree requirements and preparation. Serve as an advisor to Real Estate Development Students’ Association. Support admitted students in advising on scholarship and fellowship applications. Collaborate with the Dashew International Student Center to effectively guide international students on visa regulations and processes. Effectively manage and prepare processing of fellowships and awards. In collaboration with the MRED Executive Director, develop annual student support funding budget and strategy. Liaise with appropriate offices to facilitate processing of awards, fee remissions, and fee deferrals. Manage, plan, and direct commencement activities for MRED. | 40% | Student Services & Alumni Engagement | Communicate regularly with students regarding program updates, events, scheduling, and other matters of importance. Serves as key MRED point of contact for all relations with Office of the Registrar, Billing & Payments, Graduate Division and Admissions. Coordinates student exit surveys and follow-up data collection surveys. Facilitates outreach and connection for current students through ongoing alumni engagement in annual program activities and social events. Works with the Director of Career Development & Industry Outreach to connect current students with alumni for career services programming and networking opportunities.
