POSITION SUMMARY

The Vending, Refreshment & Food Delivery Solutions Manager plays a vital role in supporting the General Manager in executing the strategic vision for UCLA's vending, refreshment, and food delivery services. This position is essential in driving operational excellence, enhancing efficiency, and modernizing service delivery to position UCLA as a leader in the food delivery market.

 

By working closely with the General Manager, the Manager ensures that service quality, product offerings, and sustainability initiatives align with evolving consumer preferences. This role is responsible for overseeing key daily operational functions and optimizing team performance across multiple service lines—including vending, office services, and food delivery solutions—to ensure outstanding service, operational efficiency, and long-term profitability.

Operations Management

Manage daily vending operations, including stocking, maintenance, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor vending machine functionality and work with technicians to address service issues. Ensure efficient route planning and timely replenishment of vending machines. Implement best practices to improve operational efficiency. Assist in rolling out new vending technologies and service enhancements.

Team Leadership & Training

Supervise vending staff, including senior lead storekeeper, route drivers and service technicians. Provide training to ensure operational efficiency, adherence to safety protocols, and customer service excellence. Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development opportunities for team members.

Financial & Inventory Management

Support the General Manager of Vending, Refreshment & Food Delivery Solutions by overseeing inventory control processes to ensure optimal product availability while minimizing waste. Assist in managing the budgetary aspects of vending services, including implementing cost controls and tracking revenue to maintain financial efficiency. Collaborate closely with the General Manager to analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations that drive growth, enhance profitability, and strengthen UCLA’s position as a leader in vending, refreshment, and food delivery solutions.

Customer Experience & Marketing

Enhance customer experience by ensuring vending locations are well-maintained and stocked with appealing products. Gather and analyze customer feedback to adjust product selections and improve service quality. Assist in marketing efforts to promote vending services, including digital engagement strategies and campus outreach. Support initiatives that align with UCLA’s commitment to health and wellness

Ensure compliance with UCLA sustainability initiatives by promoting eco-friendly product packaging and waste reduction strategies. Assist in monitoring vending machine energy efficiency and recommend improvements. Work towards achieving UCLA’s sustainability goals by sourcing environmentally friendly products and services.

Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely product replenishment and service quality. Collaborate with suppliers to introduce innovative and health-conscious product offerings.
