POSITION SUMMARY | Under the general supervision of the laboratory Principal Investigator and the Assistant Adjunct Professor, the SRA major functions will be to evaluate targeted genome editing in hematopoietic cells. The role will involve independent research on the use of site-specific nucleases, base editors and other techniques to directly modify the human genome in hematopoietic stem cells. The SRA will also be responsible for sharing oversight of one to two SRA lab members, as well as research performed by graduate or undergraduate students and other trainees. | | | |

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Evaluate Gene Modification of Hematopoietic Stem Cells | 1. Design, perform electroporations, and analyze experiments for the genome modifications of cell lines and hematopoietic stem cells. 2. Design and perform PCR, qPCR, and ddPCR assays. 3. Perform flow cytometry analysis on modified cells. 4. Perform data analysis. 5. Maintain supplies and equipment needed for above duties. | 60% | Generate Libraries for Next-Generation Sequencing | 1.
