POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Football Research and Business Operations will be responsible for conducting research to support decision-making across football operations. They will collaborate closely with coaches, scouts, player personnel staff, and operations staff to enhance our team's competitive advantage through innovative strategies and evidence-based decision-making. Will additionally maintain documentation related to recruitment activities, and coordinates with compliance staff to ensure activities associated with on-campus recruiting and unofficial on-campus visits are in compliance with University, NCAA, and Big Ten recruitment regulation.

 • Collect, analyze, and interpret football-related data, including player performance metrics, opponent scouting reports, and statistical trends. Utilize advanced statistical methods and data visualization techniques to derive actionable insights.

 • Scout and analyze upcoming opponents, including game film review, player evaluations, and strategic assessments. Identify opponent tendencies, strengths, weaknesses, and key matchups to inform game planning and preparation.

 • Collaborate with player personnel staff and coaches to evaluate player performance, potential, and fit within our team's systems. Provide data-driven recommendations for player acquisitions, roster management, and player development strategies.

 • Identify emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in player evaluation. Stay abreast of industry developments and leverage cutting-edge techniques to maintain a competitive edge.

 • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the football research.

 • Communicate findings, recommendations, and insights effectively to stakeholders across football operations and the executive leadership team.

Player Personnel

 • Assist the Director of Player Personnel in the off-season to plan, create, and implement Teams personnel needs for football program.

 • Contribute to the creation of personnel manual- tracking and logging all evaluations of every prospective student-athlete. Works with each position Coach to synthesize input into evaluations.

 • Responsible for collaborating with select assistant Coaches and Coordinator to see areas of greatest need as it relates to current and prospective student-athlete personnel.

 • Assist with grading players after selected practices.

 • Attend staff and player meetings, synthesize information and assist with opponent personnel scouting.

NIL, External Relationships, and Partnerships

 • Collaborate with marketing and media teams to highlight recruiting successes and improve the program’s public profile.

 • Build and maintain strategic relationships with high school and club coaches, recruiting organizations, and alumni to enhance recruiting efforts.

 • Assist in donor engagement, fundraising, and corporate partnership strategies for NIL deals.

 • Work with compliance and legal teams to maintain ethical and legal NIL operations.

 • Collaborate with athletics leadership, coaches, and collectives to create sustainable NIL frameworks.

Rules Compliance

 • Comply with all Federal, State, University and Department requirements established pursuant to Title IX, including the mandatory reporting requirements for a “Responsible Employee.”

 • The DIA is governed by the NCAA, Big Ten Conference, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and University of California System.  The incumbent is required to comply with the applicable rules, regulations and policies of those organizations.

    ◦ Review and retain all rules compliance disseminated by the DIA Compliance office.

    ◦ Report all NCAA and conference violations.

    ◦ Sign the annual NCAA Certification of Compliance form.

    ◦ Complete the Athletically-Related Income form annually.

    ◦ Comply with California State Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) Law and adhere to mandatory reporting guidelines.
