POSITION SUMMARY

The Project & Policy Analyst supports the needs of research units in EPSS, AOS, IoES, and AISC. The incumbent will represent research, education, engagement, and related development to key stakeholders, contribute to  communications surrounding research initiatives and events, and support activities that promote Tripati and Eagle Lab and CDLS and CEPS objectives. Responsibilities include maintaining websites, performing literature searches, proofreading and editing, preparing forms, preparing proposals, developing promotional materials, and completing special projects for the groups.

 

 


Department Summary

The department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences (EPSS) at UCLA studies real-world problems on Earth and other planets through the application of physics, chemistry, and biology. The department's mission is to protect and understand the universe through education, discovery, and experience relating to earth and environmental sciences.

1. Edit and revise forms, article manuscripts, grant proposals, websites, promotional materials, etc. for completion, grammar, style and clarity.  2. Research and compile spreadsheets of publications, relevant news items, events, etc., for  publishing on the web. Update websites with latest news and personnel info, using  HTML, CSS, and Java, etc. 3. Prepare materials and reports for  searches, nominations, and other HR requests. 4. Maintain database records of required training for lab personnel. 5. Process airfare,  car rentals, and travel reimbursements for employees to attend scientific conferences, visiting researchers, and seminar speakers.  6. Plan and coordinate all aspects  of public events such as conferences, workshops, design reviews, etc., including  attendee

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to disseminate articles, newsletters,  posters, graphics, and videos that increase public knowledge about the missions of the labs, CEPS, and CDLS. 2. Develop marketing  materials to promote public events, conferences, workshops, design reviews, and  other activities. (E) 3. Manage social media posts and update/maintain website  content to enhance and maximize public exposure for the research missions.
