POSITION SUMMARY | The Orthopedic Technician (OT) serves patients and assists clinicians at the Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center. This role primarily supports Sports Medicine Clinicians and Orthopedists but may assist other departments as needed. The OT performs specialized tasks such as casting, brace fitting, and patient education, ensuring that patients receive high-quality orthopedic care. The role requires independent function with minimal supervision, focusing on efficient patient care and collaboration with the clinical team. | | | |

They document patient histories and provide detailed observations to the physician. They also manage wound care and prepare patients for injections, contributing to the overall orthopedic care process. | 50% | Medical Assistance | The OT prepares patients for clinician visits by ensuring necessary supplies and documentation are in order. They support the clinical team by rooming patients, checking vital signs, and assisting with patient documentation. Additionally, the OT acts as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring clear communication and addressing patient needs. | 40% | Miscellaneous | The OT supports various aspects of clinical operations, including participation in Ashe Center outreach programs and contributing to staff and student education.
