POSITION SUMMARY | UCLA's sports championship history stands out as one of the most impressive of any university. Our student athletes perform at an elite level in their sports, studies, and public service. As the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA)'s Senior Director, Development, you will work in close partnership with the Assistant Athletic Director, Development and Executive Senior Associate Athletic Officer/Chief Development Officer to develop and drive strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors at the major and principal giving levels. As a Senior Director, Development, you will manage a portfolio of a designated number of major ($100K+) and principal ($3M+) donors and prospects. You will develop prospect management teams of both internal and external stakeholders and influencers and actively participate in pipeline and principal gift strategy meetings. As a partner with DIA, UCLA development/ External Affairs peers and leaders, and head coaches, you will build compelling cases for support around transformational gifts and deepen relationships with leadership donors and prospects. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Major/Principal Gift Fundraising | 1. Collaboratively implement a plan to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects/donors. 2. Identify and qualify major and principal gift donors through rating and screening, prospect list segmentation and analysis, and one-on-one conversations with donors and volunteers. 3. Evaluate current population of season ticket holders and top annual donor tiers, for capacity and affinity to give at the major and principal level. 4. Build and manage a portfolio of major/principal gift donors and prospects; maintain active awareness of a designated number of prospects at all stages of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. | 70% | | 5. Formulate and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for individuals, corporations and foundations to address the priority assigned programs for resource development. 6. Organize volunteers to sponsor/assist with cultivation activities; directly support prospect/donor solicitations of volunteers/athletics leadership. 7. Maintain a high volume of donor activity to meet/exceed metrics for contacts, visits and solicitations and dollars raised. 8. Collaborate with team fundraising officers to cultivate the donor pipeline. 4.
