POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Analyst will support the operations and coordination of the Security & Network Transformation and in collaboration with the standards of the Enterprise Program Management Office (ePMO). This role will act as a resource to ensure compliance with program and project management standards while maintain a focus on quality assurance. The Project Analyst will support major projects by utilizing project portfolio tools for generating program status reports, providing valuable insights into the progress and performance of projects. The Security & Network Transformation program is a campus-wide IT program that will modernize and enhance UCLA's Information Security standards, practices, and technologies and unify UCLA's Networks. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing project data, and providing insights to ensure successful delivery of projects aimed at enhancing the organization's security posture and network infrastructure.

 

The Project Analyst will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling IT projects and programs in service of the institution's academic, research and service mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.


Department Summary

Strategy, Planning, and Operations leads and manages a large and complex portfolio of IT projects and programs while establishing partnerships and stakeholder engagement efforts with students, faculty, staff, and external partners on behalf of the IT organization. The Strategy, Planning, and Operations Office also manages organizational initiatives and efforts, including general administrative functions, financial management and budgeting, vendor management and licensing, billing, internal communications, department human resources, talent management, and culture development.

1.Implements innovations to streamline, automate, or improve existing PMO processes and tools. Supports meeting setup and scheduling, authors meeting agendas, creates summaries and notes, and follows-up on action items.

2.Applies professional project management and IT concepts, policies. and procedures to manage moderately complex projects.

3.Supports the development and implementation process for moderately complex products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams. Assists with project proposals and reports.

4.May monitor aspects of budget and resources. Organizes project activities with the goal of completing the project on schedule and within budget constraints.

5.Supports all projects using the project management methodology. Demonstrates proficiency in project management tools, service management frameworks, and technology strategy.

6.Gather, analyze, and interpret project data, metrics, and performance indicators to assess project progress and identify areas for improvement.

7.Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate project status, milestones, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.

10.Conduct periodic quality reviews and audits to assess project compliance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
