POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Guest Experience Manager and supervision of the Guest Experience Coordinator, the Visual Art Instructor will assist in the administration and implementation of various Arts & Crafts programs as part of the overall guest experience at LAL. Responsibilities include program development, preparation, set-up, inventory management, organization, instructional support, and clean-up. Visual Art Instructors are expected to maintain the high standard of customer service set by the LAL team.


Department Summary

UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge is a unique Southern California meeting and retreat venue. Located high in the pine-studded San Bernardino Mountains on the tranquil shores of Lake Arrowhead, our 50-acre lodge provides meeting space and accommodations for groups from September through mid-June. During the summer, Bruins Woods Family Camp program runs for ten consecutive weeks, with up to 80 families attending each week.

Program Instruction

Coordinate the execution of art and craft department classes, including development, instruction, set up, break down, inventory, and organization of all art and craft supplies offered to Lodge/Bruin Woods guests.  

Conduct setup, breakdown, storage, and movement of all necessary event supplies.

Instruct participants of all ages in group settings at various ability levels in visual art classes, workshops, and Bruin Woods.

Provide appropriate instruction and activities for participants to meet objectives and enjoy the creative process. Lead classes through engaging teaching techniques, demonstrating clarity and creativity, and encouraging participants.

Select and requisition instructional materials; maintain inventory records. Ensure all spaces and classes are safe, welcoming, and inclusive to all participants.

Execute designated special projects under the guidance of the Guest Experience Manager and Coordinator.

Provide supplementary assistance for all Bruin Woods Programs, Family Holidays, and Arrowhead Adventures.

Aid guests with inquiries, activities, special requests, etc.
