POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Lead Director and Director, work cooperatively with other supervisory staff to coordinate child care program for children and parents in one classroom for children two months to five years old.  Maintain program quality, adhering to Title 22 State licensing regulations, Title 5 Exemplary Program Standards and NAEYC accreditation standards.  Maintain a healthy indoor and outdoor environment.  Act quickly and appropriately in hazardous situations, providing first aid in emergencies.

Assist to Coordinate Classroom Program

ʉۢ Support teaching team to implement program for children

ʉۢ Under direction of the supervising teacher, set up appropriate activities daily in curriculum areas

ʉۢ Carry out a developmentally appropriate daily schedule (includes time for play, rest, toileting, eating, problem solving and nurturing)

ʉۢ Assist children in personal hygiene; bathe/diaper infants and toddlers when appropriate

ʉۢ Support teaching team to maintain a safe and healthy indoor and outdoor environment for children and participating adults within guidelines established by relevant regulatory agencies

ʉۢ Assist in opening and closing routines each day

ʉۢ Assist with clean-up and transition routines throughout the day

ʉۢ Administer first aid to injured or ill children

ʉۢ Participate in classroom staff meetings

ʉۢ Assist with curriculum development and DRDP assessments and observations

Reporting and Background Check Requirements

Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.

Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.

Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.

Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.

TB Test: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory TB test.

Tdap Pertussis Vaccine: The position is subject to providing evidence of inoculation within 10 years.

CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
