POSITION SUMMARY

The Training Coordinator plans, implements, and collaborates on training and development initiatives for Residential Life student and professional staff. The position works under general supervision of the Assistant Director for Organizational Development and receives general instructions regarding on-going training work, with detailed instructions provided on new training projects, assignments and initiatives. The incumbent works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to conduct year-round training and development programs that engage, prepare, educate, and inspire a diverse workforce of roughly 100 professional employees and 600 student team members. Continued employment contingent upon completion of satisfactory background investigation.

Organize and assist in the development of educational content for a variety of learning platforms (in-person, virtual, asynchronous). Arrange for resources and attendance necessary to conduct future trainings & development initiatives, such as participant invitations and scheduling. Plan activities, discussions, and experiences, and develop written/graphic materials to achieve learning outcomes. Develop training program recommendations that are responsive to feedback and assessed needs.

Collaborate with a diverse organization community, communicating appropriately with a variety of stakeholders. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions. Participate in and at times lead meetings to discuss, plan, and debrief training & development programs. Use technology to prepare, upload, track, organize, and distribute a variety of documents and data. Gather and analyze training resource data. Collaborate to monitor training results through assessment. Maintain and analyze records of training attendance and attainment, and communicate needs and recommendations with learners and supervisors. Apply organization policies, procedures and programs in addressing needs for the coordination of trainings and related programs.

Involve in conducting employee training & development programs for large audiences of 5-500 attendees, including live, in-person, virtual, hybrid, and recorded formats according to procedures. Present material through multiple modalities to appeal to a variety of learning styles and learning differences. Facilitate lectures and workshops, and collaborate with others to engage colleagues and campus partners in facilitation. Coordinate day-of logistics for training events, responding to expected and unexpected factors to optimize learning and engagement. Prepare and provide learning materials and logistical considerations such as refreshments. Accommodate requested and anticipated accessibility needs.

Direct/advise and motivate student workers to support in training-related tasks and programs. Hire, train, and supervise student employees, if applicable. Advise others on how to plan and implement trainings according to best practices and utilizing organizational resources.
