POSITION SUMMARY | UCLA's sports championship history stands out as one of the most impressive of any university. As the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA)'s Assistant Athletic Director, Development, you will work in close partnership with the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Officer/Chief Development Officer, manage the UCLA Athletics major/principal gifts team and will provide oversight of the Wooden Athletic Fund annual giving program. As the Assistant Athletic Director, Development, you will develops and drive strategies to achieve fundraising goals with a focus on major gifts ($100,000+) and an emphasis on principal gifts ($3,000,000+). You will manage a portfolio of major and principal level donors and prospects. You will develop and build meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximize alignment with institutional strategic goals and philanthropic support for those goals. In this vital role, you will collaborate with DIA and campus wide leadership and head coaches to build compelling cases for support around transformational gifts and deepen relationships with leadership donors and prospects. In addition, you will lead a team of fundraising professionals, providing strategic leadership, mentorship, professional development efforts and holding accountable to fundraiser activity metrics. As our Assistant Athletic Director, Development, you will also lead internal development team meetings. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Major/Principal Gifts Fundraising & Stewardship | 1. In partnership with Exec. Senior Associate AD/CDO formulate/implement a major/principal gifts program. 2. Lead efforts to ensure efficient marketing of program to potential new donors. Discover potential new donors by identifying through referrals from current donors, leadership volunteers, introductions at events, campus partners, and other avenues. 3. Evaluate current population of season ticket holders/WAF donors; focus on top three levels of annual donors ($30,000 to $100,000+ annually)/evaluate which donors capable of making major gifts of $100,000+ and principal gifts of $3,000,000+ to cultivate /solicit. 4. Build a portfolio of a designated number of major/principal gift donors/prospects maintaining active awareness at all stages of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. | 60% | | 5. Contribute to development of complex cultivation and solicitation strategies for major and principal gift prospects. 6. Partner with Exec. Senior Associate AD/CDO and Director of NIL Operations to develop NIL strategy. 7. Collaborate with Development Research Office to execute major and principal prospect and donor research. 8.
