POSITION SUMMARY

Recruit, retain, and sustain strategic partnerships focused on the teaching and learning of mathematics (early childhood-elementary/span) with public and private local education agencies, school districts, individual sites, and other educational entities. Provide direct support for PK-6 teachers, paraprofessionals, school leaders, instructional leadership teams associated with our existing Cognitively Guided Instruction action research project partnership with a large urban school district.  Major responsibilities include co-designing and facilitating professional learning opportunities, with a particular emphasis on recruiting and supporting teachers new to the work.

Professional Development

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate learning opportunities for a range of educators focused on the teaching and learning of mathematics.

Coordinate and support a team of professional development providers who develop and implement school site plans related to the teaching and learning of mathematics.

Develop and facilitate professional learning opportunities for educators in a variety of settings (classroom embedded, after school, etc.), with a particular emphasis on supporting teachers newer to the CGI work.

Recruit, support, and retain teacher leaders.

Recruit and support teacher leaders to present at biannual online conferences focused on the teaching and learning of mathematics, supporting the development and facilitation of substantive content by Teacher Leaders.

Work with team members to develop content for in-person workshops and conduct related content calls.

Attend and present workshops at local, state, regional, and national conventions on the teaching and learning of elementary mathematics, with an emphasis on Cognitively Guided Instruction.

Program Administration

Recruit and sustain relationships with public and private local education agencies, school districts, individual sites, and other educational entities, organizing the partnership proposal process.

Establish coaching placements, create communications, and develop outreach between school sites and professional development providers.

Organize, publicize, and support CGI workshops/institutes.

Assess and support the generation, dissemination, and storage of project-generated materials and data.

Collaborate programmatic aspects in-person and online events with the project’s administrative team.
