POSITION SUMMARY

The Graduate Studies and Professional Programs Program Officer (Program Officer) provides admissions, student advising services, and operational support for the UCLA School of Law's Master of Legal Studies (M.L.S.) and Executive Education (Exec Ed) programs to ensure an effective and smooth operation of both programs. Responsibilities include outreach to prospective students and participants about the MLS and Exec Ed program; advising prospective students/participants about admissions and enrollment requirements; advising current students of program requirements, policies, processes, and deadlines; responding to routine questions about the MLS and Exec Ed programs; administering MCLE credits for Exec Ed; and coordinating and executing small and medium-sized events to promote the programs operational activities. .  The Program Officer will provide significant support to the Director of Executive Education in the development of Executive Education programs. 


Department Summary

1. Provide admissions and program information to the public and prospective applicants/participants on admissions requirements or enrollment information. (E)  2.              Prepares admissions materials to distribute to the public and prospective applicants. (E)  3.              Prepares admissions materials and applicant information for the Assistant Director and Assistant Dean's review. (E)  4.              Serve as a liaison between the students/participants and the university. (E)   5.              Respond to routine questions about the admissions or enrollment process.Escalate questions as approrapite. . (E)  6.              Host Admissions information sessions. (E)  7.              Upload transcripts and other supporting documents to the applicant's application into the Slate platform. (E)  8.              Maintain prospective students' databases, tracking biographical information, employment, and area of specialization. Track employment of graduates. Generate reports for use in recruitment. (E)  9.              Update our CRM (Salesforce) with lead and application information. (E)  10.              Perform various recruitment activities such as writing or editing materials, representing the MLS and Executive Education program at events and forums, and contacting interested participants. (E)  11.              Track and evaluate promotional opportunities for the M.L.S. Program. (E)  12.              Coordinate admission interviews. (E)  13.              Track data and create reports. (E)  14.              Provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean and for the support of the admissions process as needed. (E)  15.              Organize and mail admit packets. (E)  16.              Represent the M.L.S. Program at events around the country. (E)

Student Services

1. Plan, coordinate, and implement events for the MLS and Executive Education programs. and coordinate department events. Ensure each event targets the correct audience. Events include, but are not limited to: a.              New Student Orientation for the MLS program. b.              Program Information Sessions. c.              Admit day. d.              Admissions Advising sessions. e.              Community, Networking, and Engagement events. This includes the MLS bi-weekly networking dinner held in the evenings. And f.              Assist in the execution of new outreach events for the programs, as determined by the Assistant Dean. (E)  2.              Coordinate panelists for events. Examples include, but are not limited to, Alumni panels for prospective MLS students to learn more about the program and its benefits, coordinating speakers for Bruin Bites to highlight upcoming offerings for Exec Education participants, and speakers for networking and informational events geared toward MLS students. (E)  3.              Provide guidance to MLS students on how to enroll in classes though MyUCLA. Help troubleshoot issues that arise. (E)  4.              Provide information to Exec Ed participants on how to sign up and pay for courses. Help trouble shoot enrollment issues as needed. (E)   5.              Track data and create reports for students. (E)  6.              Update and maintain the Career Advancement Office jobs page. Ensure the opportunities listed are relevant and active. (E)  7.              Administer MCLE for the Executive Education. (E)  8.              Proctor exams during midterms and finals. This is usually during the evening. 9.              Host enrollment advising sessions to advise students on course selection. (E)  10.              Assist in the processing for inputting scholarship awards. (E)

1. Coordinate and book travel for the MLS department. (E)  2. Ensure all physical items required for the team's travel have been prepared and obtained. This includes obtaining brochures, ordering signs, packing promotional materials, etc. (E)   3.              Purchase all promotional materials for the programs. (E)  4.              Coordinate and assist the Assistant Dean with schedule and travel as it pertains to the MLS and Exec Ed programs. (E)  5.              Assist with social media postings, as necessary. (M)  6.              Other duties as assigned. (E)
