POSITION SUMMARY | Under the general supervision of the Senior Director, Fan Experiences & Marketing, the Assistant Director of Marketing will be involved in the department's marketing efforts by handling the brand marketing, fan engagement, promotion, and advertising for sports and programs as assigned, in addition to special events surrounding UCLA Athletics. | | | |
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Brand Marketing | • Serve as the Brand Marketing lead for various UCLA Athletics Olympic sports programs. • Develop, write and implement marketing plans and promotional programs that will increase attendance, revenue and exposure for assigned sports. • Review and evaluate plans after each season.Maintain regular communication with Head Coach or Director of Operations, and department staff members in formulating the marketing plan for assigned sports. • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams in regard to lead generation, data collection, and managing outreach efforts. • Utilize graphic design skills to produce various pieces of promotional collateral and signage. • Maintain production schedule of marketing and promotional materials for assigned sports. • Management of student interns to assigned sports. | 50% | Brand Marketing | • Management of marketing budget for assigned sports. • Responsible for communicating pertinent marketing information to all internal staff. • Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Fan Experiences & Marketing. | 0% | Fan Experience | • Oversee and direct game presentation efforts, including in-game promotions, fan giveaways, in-venue atmosphere, event talent from inception through execution • Create branded videoboard content utilizing third-party resources as well as internally creating custom graphics. Manage promotional outreach calendar, including graphics for online and print materials • Collaborate with Social Media team on external communication efforts for various promotions • Assist with a comprehensive plan to increase various revenue streams, including merchandise and concessions. • Work with various campus contacts to engage the UCLA community and enhance overall fan experience at all UCLA Athletic events • Coordinate programmatic elements with athletics staff, as they relate to gameday experience for assigned sports | 40% | Special Events | • Assist with the planning and execution of fan events such as season ticket member events, pep rallies, watch parties and other miscellaneous campus events. | 5% | Rules Compliance | • Comply with all Federal, State, University and Department requirements established pursuant to Title IX, including the mandatory reporting requirements for a “Responsible Employee.” • The DIA is governed by the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and University of California.
