POSITION SUMMARY

The Bixby Center Project Coordinator is an essential role within a small, fast-paced, high-impact team. We seek a nimble, passionate, and highly effective individual to support the Bixby Center's activities, operations, marketing, communications, and research initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to impactful research and activities within the UCLA community and beyond.

 


Department Summary

The UCLA Bixby Center to Advance Sexual and Reproductive Health Equity, located within the Fielding School of Public Health’s Community Health Sciences Department, is a transdisciplinary consortium dedicated to training future leaders in sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Through its comprehensive Bixby Certificate Program, doctoral fellowships, mentorship opportunities, and global experiential learning, the Center equips the next generation of the workforce. It offers a diverse range of activities, including seminars, film series, career advising, and student internship placements, while collaborating with key UCLA departments, on-campus and community groups, and external partners. The Bixby Center is committed to innovative research, community outreach, and advocacy efforts, addressing urgent reproductive health topics and supporting faculty and students engaged in research and applied public health practice.

1.Plan, coordinate, adapt and perform program tasks related to Bixby Center activities, both in-person and remotely for students, staff, faculty, community members and stakeholders

2.Work with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders to carryout events; gather, collate, and disseminate critical SRH information; develop and carry out community activities

3.Contribute to program monitoring and evaluation including designing and distributing evaluation tools, analyzing results, sharing findings and identifying opportunities for improvement

4.Produce high-quality, timely, and effective reports related to Bixby Center activities

5.Oversee and enhance the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Bixby Center operations.

6.Serve as a resource to the Bixby Community to connect them with timely information and personal connections

7.Maintain records of Center activities, including attendance, budgeting and expenses, contact lists, etc.

8.Collaborate with departmental, school and university partners, stakeholders and leadership to carry out, expand, and improve Bixby Center Activities

9.Create and maintain organizational solutions for the team, which may include shared folders and calendars

Marketing & Communications

1. Create outreach and marketing materials for events, programming, advertising

2. Review and update website content in collaboration with leadership. May include overseeing content updates by website hosts.

3. Oversee social media including creating social media plan, posting calendar, creating content, and identifying appropriate trends, technology and software for utilization

4. Identify and procure marketing and promotional materials

5. Produce timely, succinct and visually effective Newsletter & listserv content related to SRH, Bixby Center activities, and the work of partners

6. Develop program marketing materials for distribution online, in person, and verbally

Research Administration & Revenue Generation

1. Identify and investigate potential revenue sources pertaining to SRH research, training and advocacy

2. Contribute to grant proposals by conducting literature reviews, writing/editing content, ensuring compliance with application guidelines, coordinating investigator contributions and assets, assisting with submissions

3. Organize strategic partnerships for purposes of cross-collaboration and interdisciplinary funding applications

4. Liaise with members of community organizations and facilitate collaborative, mutually beneficial partnerships with community partners

5. Assist with the development of new studies and funded work; update training materials and assists with the writing of project specifications

6. Ensure compliance with all aspects of research studies, including those involving both qualitative and quantitative methods

7. Oversee data collection timeliness and effectiveness of activities.

8. Assist the Primary Investigator(s) with the management of all research protocols, with ability to coordinate and complete multiple studies simultaneously.

9.Compile and develop content for reporting, presenting, and publishing.
