POSITION SUMMARY | Build a rewarding career that supports scholarships, research, and university initiatives through fundraising for the UCLA School of Dentistry. The UCLA School of Dentistry was established in 1964 in response to the need for a public school of dentistry in the greater Los Angeles area. Since its inception, the School has focused on achieving and maintaining excellence in four main areas: a comprehensive dental education, leading-edge research, quality patient care and public service. This position supports the Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Relations, and is a great opportunity to learn about fundraising and develop your career goals through our training, mentoring, and professional development programs. As a Fundraising/Alumni Relations Coordinator, you will build meaningful relationships with donors, alumni and colleagues by assisting with event and travel planning, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, responding to inquiries, and managing information. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Fundraising Support | 1. Provide program support for Asst Dean and Development/Alumni Relations staff ; build/maintain constituent relationships; assist with donor ops activities as needed. 2. Per Asst Dean, Development and Alumni Relation/staff, execute activities/events for fundraising programs; input data and route donations/event proceeds on a timely basis. 3. Manage event logistics/details such as coordinating all logistics with internal campus partners, external venues, vendors, all invitations/ messages; producing event materials and providing staff support at events. 4. Compile and maintain reports on cultivation/solicitation activities/results; provide data on program trends and conduct basic data analysis as needed; maintain major gift pipeline/coordinate regular team meetings for annual goals. | 60% | | 5. Prepare materials for specific fundraising activities and/or assist in promotional efforts such as writing, speaking, telephoning, etc. as required; manage and prioritize in-coming communications for further action as needed. 6. As directed, conduct research and compile information to identify prospects and donors; manage prospect and donor records and databases as appropriate. 7. Assist with stewardship activities such as donor appreciation gifts, milestone acknowledgements, etc.; establish/oversee stewardship best practices and other activities. 8. Work with gift processing and accounting departments to record, process, and acknowledge gifts. 9. Manage calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate and prepare travel itineraries. | 0% | Comunications/ Special Projects | 1. Maintain files for all communications materials for use by gift officers with donors and prospects; design or draft collateral in the absence of formal pieces, as requested. | 20% | Financial | 1.
