POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Production Services Director, the Content Technology System Administrator has primary oversight responsibility for CEB's content technology systems; testing and quality assurance of all new and enhanced content technologies; managing the technical support of all CEB's content technologies Acts as team lead for monitoring, operating, and upgrading. The position is also responsible for coordinating with all internal and external departments that impact or are impacted by content technology.

We are Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), providing innovative resources and practice-oriented tools that help attorneys better serve their clients. From online legal research and MCLE to forms solutions and print books, CEB strives to make high-quality legal information accessible to everyone, from rural solo practices to large law firms. Founded in 1947, CEB is one of California’s oldest and most prestigious legal information and continuing legal education providers. CEB publishes judgments of California case law, practical guidance for attorneys and, CLE all in a variety of practice areas and formats e.g. print, online and, in-person. CEB operates as a nonprofit within the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). We are an arm of UCLA Extension as we provide continuing education needed for licensed lawyers and other legal professionals.

Content Technology Management

1. Management of Content Technology: Oversee updates to content technology. Establish and monitor schedules for content technologies 2. Manage day-to-day: Oversee scheduling and accuracy of content technology. 3. Develop and implement updates to: Working with the IT and Content Departments, develop and implement strategic plans for the on-going improvement and enhancement of existing content technologies including adding or improving application features, expanding capabilities, upgrading underlying software. 4. Coordinate implementation, development, improvement to content technologies with external tech teams. 5. Training: Help develop training programs and arrange product technology demonstrations for in-house staff. Ability to work on any content technology

General Administration

Procedures & Standards ? Establish and direct the content technology operating procedures, standards, and channels of communication. Establishes and maintains department standards of performance and oversees quality control of products and services. Responsible for scheduling, work planning, and setting priorities. Create and maintain procedure manuals for all products. 2. Work with Production Services Director to perform long-term planning for organizational needs of the department in areas of technologies, equipment, personnel, and procedures. 3. Personnel --Recruit, select, supervise, train, and evaluate administrative and technical staff. Direct staff work assignments, productivity,  growth and development, performance review, and discipline.

Content Technology Testing

1. Oversee the development of  test plans. 2. Establish work  plan and establish staffing for each phase of testing project, which includes rigorous in-house testing of CEB software content technology products and services to ensure products meet quality and performance criteria. Direct activities of staff to make sure that project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Establish strong working relationship with staff within and outside the department. 3. Oversee test of CEB software content technologies products and services on new processors, operating systems, browsers, firewalls, pop-up blockers, and other software configurations to verify compatibility.4. Analyze test results, determine cause of problems, and refer information to programmer for resolution.

Quality Assurance Project Management

1. Review and edit technical documentation of software products and services prior to release including help files, user manuals, and user instructions. 2. Provide post-implementation support.

Technical Support

1. Full management responsibility for providing quality technical support services directly to internal content technologies users. Review, analyze, and identify problems and trends, develop and implement strategies for improving content technologies and procedures 2. Communicate relevant data to appropriate units and departments within CEB including  statistics, recommendations for product improvements, and customer feedback. Consult regularly with Content Operations to answer questions and resolve customer problems resulting in coordinated and cohesive customer and technical support services.
