POSITION SUMMARY | Under the immediate supervision of the Director of the Undergraduate Research Center (URC)-Sciences, the PEERS Faculty Director, the Assistant Director for PEERS and the PEERS SSA III, the Student Services Advisor (SSA) counsels undergraduates in the Program for Excellence in Education and Research in the Sciences (PEERS) regarding academic requirements and options. Must be able to maintain a regular schedule and on-time attendance. Administrative duties include scheduling of counseling appointments, student tracking, and coordinating special projects. Assist in short- and long-range planning. The URC-Sciences at UCLA works collaboratively to serve UCLA's undergraduate science population. Through various programs the URC-Sciences recruits, develops, and celebrates students involved in research. Our mission is to support and increase the retention of science majors in all disciplines, with some programs focused on students who face economic, familial, educational, social or other challenges. | | | |
