POSITION SUMMARY | The Academic Advisor advises undergraduate students served by Center for Academic Advising in the College (CAAC) at UCLA regarding academic requirements and options. CAAC is part of the Division of Undergraduate Education within the UCLA College and provides academic advising and related programs and services to approximately 21,000 undergraduates. Major responsibilities of the Academic Advisor in addition to academic advising include: participate in the development, administration and evaluation of all programs under the jurisdiction of CAAC and College Academic Counseling; participate in outreach activities, and evaluate student petitions and determine decisions. This position requires maintaining a regular schedule and on-time attendance. This position reports to the CAAC Director of Advising Staff and Administration. | | | |

Advise CAC students (excepting AAP, Honors, Student-Athletes) regarding academic options and alternatives and explain, interpret and advise on University, College and major requirements in scheduled appointments, at the window, and as needed. Advise CAC and AAP students (as needed) in REACH virtual drop-in sessions. A2. Respond to inquiries from students and parents regarding complex academic and related issues. A3. Compose letters of recommendation as requested in support of student applications for graduate and professional schools, employment, scholarships, etc. A4. Conduct workshops for specific groups of students. A5. Follow-up on individual student cases and make referrals when appropriate. | 55% | Academic Affairs Administration | B1.
