POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general and direct supervision of the Project Director and Co-Investigators, the Research Data Analyst will support multiple population and clinical health research projects by conducting statistical analyses, managing datasets, developing reporting systems, and contributing to research documentation. The role emphasizes epidemiologic and biostatistical analysis of longitudinal health data, literature synthesis, data management, and preparation of scientific reports.

 

The individual will support NIH- and foundation-funded research projects focused on HIV, oral health, pediatric and maternal health, and community-based health assessments. Responsibilities include maintaining data systems, ensuring data quality, contributing to analytic plans, preparing summary outputs, and supporting research dissemination.

Research Analysis & Data Management

1. Conduct statistical studies and data analyses in support of research proposals and study protocols.

2. Generate analytic summaries, tables, and figures to support reports, presentations, manuscripts, and grant deliverables.

3. Assist with data quality assurance, documentation, and reproducibility across multiple research projects.

4. Support communication with community partners, advisory panels, and stakeholders by preparing summaries, meeting notes, and research updates.

5. Assist with organizing meetings and tracking feedback related to study protocols, data collection instruments, and analytic plans.

6. Engage collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams spanning epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical research, and public health practice.

Research Coordination & Project Support

1. Maintain and develop systems for research data gathering, retrieval, documentation, and reporting.

2. Collaborate with investigators on the design, documentation, testing, and implementation of research studies.

3. Assist in developing structured systems for organizing data to analyze, identify, and report trends.

4. Independently plan limited analytic components of studies or assist higher-level analysts on complex studies.

5. Conduct literature searches and synthesize findings relevant to HIV, oral health, pediatric health, and population-based research.

6. Contribute to drafting manuscripts, abstracts, technical reports, and grant-related materials in collaboration with investigators.

7. Participate in research dissemination activities, with opportunities to co-author abstracts, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.

Support

1. Assist with laboratory organization, including ordering supplies, maintaining inventories, and coordinating with laboratories handling human‑derived specimens in accordance with safety and compliance requirements.

2. Provide administrative and logistical support for research activities, including coordination of multi‑omics sample processing and familiarity with microbiome data pipelines as needed to support ongoing projects.

3. Help prepare presentation slides, reports, and meeting materials as requested.
