POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our Student Health Center team. Working under the direct supervision of the Radiology and Laboratory Services Manager, this role provides high-quality imaging services to our student population in a fast-paced clinic environment. This position focuses exclusively on diagnostic radiography within an ambulatory setting on campus, supporting diverse service specialties including Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and General Primary Care. This role is strictly limited to plain film radiography; there are no requirements for fluoroscopy, surgery (C-arm), portable imaging, or contrast-related procedures.

Diagnostic Imaging & Technical Expertise

Perform routine and specialized radiographic exams in strict accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols. Utilize fixed digital radiography (DR) system to produce high-quality diagnostic imaging for general primary care, with a specific focus on advanced orthopedic views and sports injury series. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain DR equipment through routine quality control (QC) checks to ensure technical reliability and optimal performance. Strictly adheres to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles and radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure for patients and staff. Ensure the imaging environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with all safety and healthcare regulations.

Administrative & Support Responsibilities

Provide clear, supportive instructions to a diverse student patient population. Assist with patient flow, including escorting patients and coordinating with clinical teams. Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and culturally sensitive environment while strictly protecting patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and UCLA policies. Accurately document all procedures within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and manage imaging files, PACS uploads, and exam logs. Assist with scheduling, supply management, and workflow optimization to ensure efficient daily operations. Actively participate in staff meetings, mandatory training, and departmental quality-improvement initiatives to elevate the standard of care. Exercise judgment and discretion to resolve complex issues related to Ashe Radiology.
