POSITION SUMMARY

The UCLA Partner School Network is a networked improvement community coordinated by the UCLA School of Education. The initial network (2017 – 2020) focused on supporting secondary math instruction in five UCLA Partner Schools using improvement science methods. Beginning in 2024, the network will relaunch to support both math and science instruction, with future potential to grow in other content areas. This position will oversee the coordination of the network, with support from the project P.I., supporting the development of improvement science capacity and the math and science professional development of participating network teachers.

Network Coordination

Establish and maintain relationships with partner school administrators and teachers to recruit them for the network and support their ongoing network needs. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate network convenings with assistance from P.I. Complete an annual report, highlighting progress, challenges, lessons learned, and plan for the following year.

Design and Deliver Network Professional Development

Develop improvement science and math and science content and materials, with assistance from the P.I., and deliver this professional development at the convenings.

Network Coaching in Improvement Science and Math/Science

Build the improvement science capacity of individual network members and school teams. This includes facilitating meetings at individual partner schools to support their team's capacity building in improvement science. Coordinate the development of a network driver diagram. In the school-based meetings, also support their capacity building in math and science in conjunction with using improvement science methods. This may include facilitating learning labs and Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) cycles.
