POSITION SUMMARY | The Program Manager supports the strategic, academic, and operational management of a defined portfolio of academic programs and certificates. Working under the direction of a Director, the Program Manager ensures academic excellence, operational efficiency, and responsiveness to workforce and community needs. The role serves as the Director's operational designee when delegated and collaborates with Teaching & Learning, Marketing and Communications, Academic Advising and Student Success, and Enrollment Management to ensure consistent quality and execution across the student experience. | | | |

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Strategic Academic & Program Leadership | 1) Support planning, development, and management of academic programs, courses, and events to ensure academic rigor, instructional quality, and market relevance in alignment with Director defined strategies. 2) Conduct ongoing curriculum and program reviews using instructor feedback, advisory board input, and market data; prepare findings and recommendations for Director approval. 3) Execute instructor recruitment and onboarding; coordinate evaluations and submit recommendations for Director approval. 4) Collaborate with Teaching & Learning to support instructional quality, teaching effectiveness, and course design. 5) Prepare draft annual business plans and budgets for Director review; monitor program performance metrics and recommend data-informed improvements. 6) Serve as operational coordinator in Director’s absence; escalate strategic decisions to the Director upon return. | 50% | Cross Functional Operations & Portfolio Growth | 1) Manage course scheduling, instructor agreements, budgets, and operational data tracking. 2) Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to identify audiences, develop promotional strategies, and analyze campaign performance based on Director's set goals and metrics. 3) Partner with Academic Advising and Student Success to ensure consistent academic policy interpretation and student support. 4) Coordinate with Enrollment Management to ensure accurate and timely course and program information. 5) Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and instructional delivery models for Director consideration. 6) Surface new program opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations, and develop proposals for Director review. | 30% | Administrative Support & Organizational Stewardship | 1) Maintain accurate program records and compliance documentation. 2) Support process improvements that enhance program operations and student experience. 3) Assist with routine problem-solving and timely escalation of program issues. 4) Participate in cross divisional meetings or initiatives as the Director’s designee. 5) Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with UCLA policies and standards. | 20% | | | | | |
