POSITION SUMMARY

Working in close collaboration with the Center's Co-Directors, the Managing Director helps shape, support, and communicate the Center's strategic direction by supporting programming aligned with strategic priorities and leading implementation tracking and metrics. The role also includes stewardship of the C-Solutions Advisory Boards (including regular communication and management of Board meetings) and partnership with administrative and finance colleagues to support key management and financial documents, budget oversight, and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Fundraising

1.  Partner with UCLA development, strategic partners, and C-Solutions faculty to build and execute a fundraising strategy aligned with annual needs and

     long-term priorities, including sustaining operational funding for the center.

2.  Identify, cultivate, and support outreach to prospective funders across individual donors, foundations, non-governmental sources, and  

     local/state/federal opportunities.

3.  Maintain and build relationships to convert existing, project/task-specific funders into center donors.

4.  Support proposal development and submissions and help position the C-Solutions for future and ongoing grants, contracts, fee-for-service jobs, and

    donations by leveraging results and sustaining partner relationships.

Communications

1.  Develop and deliver communications strategies that promote C-Solutions’ research, events, publications, and impact in coordination with the

     communications office.

2.  Prepare presentations and talking points for Co-Directors in alignment with UCLA brand standards and tailored to internal/external audiences.

3.  Raise the Center’s visibility through stakeholder-facing communications and draft content for the website, social media, and Center materials.

Strategic & Organizational Development

1.  Collaborate with Co-Directors on strategic planning and lead implementation tracking and metrics.

2.  Support development of C-Solutions programming aligned with strategic priorities and communicate the mission and vision to key stakeholders.

3.  Steward Advisory Boards and, with administrative/finance partners, contribute to budgets and financial management documents and support strategic

     budget decisions.

Partnership Building

1.  Identify and sustain partnerships across academia, government, media, community and professional organizations, and the private sector to expand

    the Center’s reach and impact. Maintain relationships with like-minded organizations and identify new opportunities for collaboration. Build internal

    UCLA relationships to identify synergies and collaborative opportunities, including support for Center faculty affiliates.

2.  Represent C-Solutions in policy, community, and subject-matter coalitions to cultivate and identify new opportunities.
