POSITION SUMMARY | The Research Analyst will support applied research and evaluation projects in labor and workforce development for the POWER team. Key responsibilities include coordinating research and evaluation data collection efforts, designing methodologies, implementing studies, analyzing data, and disseminating findings. The role requires active engagement with community partners and stakeholders across Los Angeles and California. The Research Analyst will collaborate with the evaluation team to produce reports and create visually compelling materials for diverse audiences. | | | |

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Project Support: Evaluation and Research Design and Data Coordination | Support evaluation and research projects by collaborating with project staff to help implement workplans, clarify roles, and track responsibilities. Assist in designing research and evaluation activities, including methodology development and preparation of human subjects (IRB) applications. Help coordinate data collection efforts and contribute to the analysis of research data. Provide guidance and support to graduate and undergraduate students on research tasks and data analysis. Develop reference materials and training guides on data management, analysis, and reporting. Help compile and organize past Labor Center research projects and databases for internal access. | 25% | Project Implementation, Data Cleaning and Analysis | Develop research and evaluation protocols. Conduct surveys, interviews, literature reviews, theory of change exercises, industry analysis, and analyze government data sources. Create coding systems, codebooks, and data cleaning plans; prepare data for analysis using Dedoose, Excel, SPSS, R, or similar programs. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends in datasets. Maintain databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. | 50% | Writing and Dissemination | Prepare summaries, briefs, and reports for team review. Develop data visualizations and infographics to include in reports, briefs, and social media content. Prepare workshops and conference materials for distribution.
