POSITION SUMMARY | The Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability (LARC) seeks a Project Coordinator to work on a variety of projects to support a regional network of climate planners and practitioners, which is housed as a program of UCLA's Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. The incumbent will assist in policy and program planning, development, administration, management and implementation. They will apply knowledge of climate change, public communications, stakeholder engagement, and network management to conduct projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of climate policy, research and procedural issues. The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated professional in the climate policy field. The role will be supervised by LARC's Executive Director and work in close coordination with the Director of Strategic Initiatives and other members of the team as needed. | | | |

Housed at the UCLA Institute of Environment and Sustainability, LARC seeks to build regional resilience to climate impacts and actively works to advance climate mitigation and adaptation by engaging in state and regional policy development, supporting municipal climate planning efforts, facilitating dialogue between key decision makers and stakeholders, distributing cutting edge research, and creating valuable tools and resources. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Project Planning and Management | • Independently uses and applies knowledge in the climate policy field to support community-based and regional climate initiatives. • Supports regular network meetings and public events and ensure meeting agendas and note are distributed. • Gathers and assembles analytical and factual data on relating to LARC projects and issues to prepare reports and / or analyses summarizing information on the assigned issues and commenting on other significance for internal or external constituents. • Prepares, edits and modifies documents including research reports, manuscripts, presentations and proposals. • On a project basis, performs analytical studies on a variety of policies, research initiatives, programs and issues. • Provides a variety of analytical duties in support of a research and program | 55% | Administrative Operations | • Supports LARC volunteers and student workers and coordinates program planning and collaboration with project staff. • Supports event planning and the creation of publicity material related to LARC events, including newsletters, and news & events postings on the website. • Participates in administrative / research policy and program project planning and development. • Provides recommendations and guidelines involving programs / initiatives. | 40% | Fundraising & Grant writing | • Cultivates donors for LARC and build relationships with Network Supporters. • Solicits donations from Network Supporters on a semi-annual basis in line UCLA gift policies. | 5% | | | | | |
