POSITION SUMMARY | The primary function of this position is to provide physical therapy on campus at UCLA to students of UCLA thereby supporting UCLA students in the attainment of their goals. Major responsibilities include evaluating and providing appropriate individualized physical therapy treatment while meeting documentation standards and productivity levels. The primary function of this role is direct patient care. | | | |

Our comprehensive services include Primary Care, Gynecology Services, Immunizations, Travel Medicine, Physical Therapy, Specialty Clinics, Radiology & Laboratory, and Acupuncture – all under one roof! We are also pleased to offer additional services in the Ackerman Student Union: a full-service optometry center, U See LA Optometry, and the Bruin Health Pharmacy. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Patient Care | To complete a physical therapy patient evaluation and all required supporting documentation. Based on the findings in the evaluation and discussion with the patient, create and implement a plan of care or refer the patient out as appropriate. To safely and competently administer physical therapy treatments within the scope of practice and complete all supporting documentation. Engage in discharge planning and transition the patient to a sustainable independent plan of care where applicable. Complete a discharge summary on all patients treated per department guidelines. Consult with other departments regarding a patient’s treatment plan as necessary. | 90% | Departmental and Professional Responsibilities | Participate in interdepartmental and student health center meetings. Complete special assignments and projects relating to physical therapy and UCLA students as assigned by the Rehab Unit Manager. Familiarity with how the student health center works to be able to refer and direct patients to student health services appropriately. Direct rehab aides in how to assist with patient care. Make recommendations and assist in implementing actions to improve systems and outcomes of the department. Compliance with all reporting requirements, infection control and environmental standards.
