POSITION SUMMARY | Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager of the Bruin Health Pharmacy at the Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center and/or their designee (e.g. Staff Pharmacist) the Per Diem Pharmacy Technician I shall perform the functions of pharmacy technician and shall be responsible for assisting the pharmacist in the core functions and duties and perform other pharmacy functions as listed below. A Per Diem Pharmacy Technician I is not authorized to perform any act requiring the exercise of professional judgment by a Pharmacist. | | | |

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Pharmacy Technician Duties | Assists pharmacists and performs functions that support the daily workflow of a pharmacy under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Accurate prescription order entry while ensuring insurance properly adjudicates. Accurately set up, fill and label medications. Update patient profiles with allergy, medical conditions, other medications and demographic information. Call providers and patients as required and notify pharmacists of any problems. Provide customer support in both check-in and check-out windows utilizing Pharmacy Management System. Inform pharmacist of patient consultations. Assist in responding to patient related pharmacy inquiries. | 80% | Operations | Assist with prescription/OTC inventory management. Assist Ashe Finance and Insurance department with resolving inquiries. Input non-controlled substance drug delivery into pharmacy management system. Report erroneous prescription data or discrepancy to pharmacy manager/staff pharmacist and enter into Incident Management system. Remove outdated drugs from pharmacy inventory. Return to stock prescriptions. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
