POSITION SUMMARY | At Bruin Woods, the role of Lifeguards is indispensable in guaranteeing the safety of our esteemed guests and their families. The Lifeguard is responsible for carrying out public relations and guest services duties, enforcing and promoting safety, performing emergency response procedures, and ensuring facility maintenance. | | | |
Department Summary | Bruin Woods was founded in 1985 as a fun retreat for UCLA Alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and introduce their families to our beloved traditions. UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge property is nestled on 50 wooded acres on the north shore of beautiful Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino Mountains. The Bruin Woods Family Camp program runs for 10 consecutive weeks each summer, with up to 80 families attending weekly. Bruin Woods has maintained its reputation as the top alum family camp in the country through an ongoing commitment to superb hospitality and service. We aim to create an environment for families to bond and grow, where kids can be kids and parents can join in all the fun, too. |
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Customer Service & Safety | • Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed • Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies. • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service. • Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates an aquatics emergency action plan as required. • Administers first aid in the event of injury rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary. • Provides superior customer service to all guests, greeting and engaging by assisting all politely and expediently. • Provide information, assistance, and service to guests. • Responsible for daily pool set-up and breakdown, tally sheets, and reports. • Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure they are safe and usable. • Assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment • Assist with activities offerings as needed. | 100% | | | | | |
