POSITION SUMMARY

UCLA School of Law is hiring a Staff Attorney for the Immigrant Family Legal Clinic  (ImmFam) to begin in Fall of 2025.  The position is intended for a bilingual attorney, and is open to recent law graduates. The position is a two-year contract, with the possibility of extension.

ImmFam is a unique partnership between the UCLA School of Law and the Los Angeles Unified School District. Located on the campus of the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools (RFK) in Koreatown/Pico Union, the Clinic serves immigrant students at the six public schools on the RFK campus, as well as their family members. ImmFam provides individual representation on immigration matters, particularly removal defense and humanitarian visas. It also offers legal consultations involving a wider range of legal topics, including workers' rights, housing, public benefits, and criminal justice. In addition, the Clinic organizes programming and enrichment opportunities related to social justice and legal rights for teachers, students, and families in the RFK community, and develops policy advocacy and research projects responsive to needs identified by the community.

The Staff Attorney is based at ImmFam's office on the RFK campus (701 S. Catalina).  They will join a team of full-time staff on onsite, including an Office Manager/Legal Assistant, Senior Staff Attorney, and Social Worker.  They will also work with our rotating "staff" of UCLA students: law students, undergraduate interns, and a social work intern.

The Staff Attorney is responsible for providing direct representation to RFK students, legal consultations to the RFK community, serving as a resource for administrators, teachers, and parents, and leading the clinic's outreach and community education work. They will also work closely with the Clinic Director and Senior Staff Attorney on developing and managing the docket and advocacy projects the clinic undertakes.
