GENERAL SUPERVISION - Indicates that the incumbent develops procedures for performance of variety of duties; or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines.


POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (P.I.), the incumbent will help develop optical and photonic setups, and perform various measurements and characterizations of photonic devices using these setups. They will further analyze the collected data and document the results. The incumbent will also work on managing the lab inventory and equipment training.


Department Summary

All members of the Physics and Astronomy department carry out active research programs that garner widespread international recognition. The research groups lead a variety of innovative research projects and train doctoral students, undergrads, and postdocs through research and teaching.

1. Developing optics and photonics setups in the lab, ordering items for them.

2. Writing programs to control the setups remotely.

3. Use these setups to characterize photonic devices.

4. Collect and analyze the data, and document/present the results.
