POSITION SUMMARY

The UCLA Anderson Venture Accelerator provides support to early-stage startups launched by UCLA students, faculty, alumni, and members of the LA community. As an integral part of UCLA's entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Accelerator strengthens the culture of innovation and collaboration across campus. Located within the Harold and Pauline Price Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, the Accelerator offers programming, mentorship, and community-building opportunities that help founders develop and scale their ventures.

 

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Program Manager positions leads the implementation of the marketing, communications, and brand strategy for the Venture Accelerator, elevating visibility for UCLA's entrepreneurship initiatives. The role develops and executes marketing campaigns, social media strategy, digital communications, that highlight program impact, founders, and key milestones. The position manages all content creation for social media, newsletters (weekly and quarterly), website updates (per cohort), event promotion, and physical and digital marketing materials, ensuring consistent and engaging storytelling across platforms.

 

In addition to overseeing marketing strategy and execution, the Program Manager executes the cohort program communications, including managing application cycles, founder communications, speaker and program alumni outreach, and event logistics for flagship initiatives such as the UCLA Draper Innovation Showcase and Accelerate Program. The role also coordinates with vendors, campus partners, and volunteers to ensure successful delivery of all programs and events.

 

Additional responsibilities include collecting and analyzing engagement metrics, supporting monthly and annual reports that highlight program outcomes, and representing the Accelerator at UCLA and Los Angeles startup community events. The Program Manager prepares presentation materials, and assists with budget monitoring to ensure timely, compliant financial transactions. This role requires strong creative, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

 

This position is currently hybrid (minimum of 3 days onsite per week and is subject to change) and requires occasional nights and weekends. Assignments are given in terms of broad goals and strategies. Employee is expected to be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

3. Plan and execute integrated campaigns across social media, newsletters, and digital platforms; manage content calendars and oversee creation of multimedia assets. (E)

4. Track and analyze engagement metrics to inform marketing strategy and reporting. (E)

5. Collaborate with the Price Center for Entrepreneurship and Anderson Marketing & Communications, cross-campus partners, and sponsors to align initiatives and extend reach. (E)

6. Represent the Accelerator at UCLA and community events to promote visibility and partnerships. (E)

Program and Event Management

1. Assist the Executive Director with planning and execution of accelerator programs, events, and related programs, including the Accelerate Program, Summer Support, and UCLA Draper Innovation Showcase. (E)

2. Coordinate logistics such as applications, speaker outreach, RSVPs, venue setup and breakdown/cleanup, catering, and vendor communication. (E)

3. Develop and manage event marketing materials, invitations, and follow-up communications to ensure a seamless participant experience. (E)

4. Supervise student workers and volunteers supporting programs and events. Help focus cohort founders to adhere to Anderson student rules and Accelerator in-person and on-time participation. (E) (E)

5. Distribute and analyze post-event surveys and summarize findings for future improvements. (M)

1. Provide administrative and operational support to ensure smooth daily functioning of the Accelerator. (E)

2. Assist with preparation of presentations, reports, and donor materials. (E)

3. Hire, train, and supervise student workers; manage assignments and performance. (E)

4. Maintain organization of shared workspaces and coordinate repairs, supplies, and vendor needs. (E)

1. Prepare expense documentation, purchase requests, and reimbursements in compliance with UCLA policy. (E)

2. Track marketing and event-related expenditures and vendor invoices to ensure adherence to approved budgets. (E)
