POSITION SUMMARY | The Director of Name, Image and Likeness reports directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director, NIL Operations & Cap Management. The major duties include serving 650 undergraduate student-athletes across twenty-five sports, coaches, staff and other key stakeholders on University resources, policies, and requirements pertaining to name, image and likeness ("NIL"). Communicating with and guiding student-athletes, DIA coaches and staff, as needed through a variety of NIL inquiries; and collaborating with multiple campus partners and within Athletics to develop and implement a comprehensive NIL program that ensures all student-athletes have the ability to maximize on their NIL opportunities. The incumbent is responsible for evaluating program needs and effectiveness to contribute to long-range planning of services. Additional duties may include serving on committee groups, delivering ongoing education to student-athletes via student-athlete meetings and mid-year orientations, and other duties as assigned by Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director, NIL Strategy & Initiatives . Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Name, Image & Likeness | • Under the general supervision off the Senior Associate Athletic Director, NIL Operations & Cap Management, assist with all aspects of day-to-day execution of the department’s NIL strategy, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities. NIL. • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for NIL-related matters for student-athletes, coaches and staff on third-party NIL opportunities, processes and expectations. • Develop and deliver targeted NIL education to ensure student-athletes, coaches, and staff have the tools, education and resources to maximize opportunities and navigate NIL. | 85% | Name, Image & Likeness | • Serve as the liaison on NIL-related programing between Athletics and key internal and external stakeholders, including campus units, multimedia rights partners, brand agencies and licensees, to enhance NIL opportunities and programming efforts. • Oversee the processing and management of student-athlete NIL activities to ensure timely execution and NCAA, Conference and institutional compliance. • Assist with monitoring all NIL and Cap Management disclosure and education platform(s). • Oversee third-party NIL activities, including education, monitoring, deal facilitation and fulfillment, ensuring alignment with institutional standards and student-athlete expectations. | 0% | Compliance Staff Administration | • Organization and scheduling of standing NIL meetings throughout the year. • Assist with meeting preparation including creating presentation materials, agendas and taking meeting minutes related to NIL initiatives or tasks. • Participate in Compliance unit staff meetings, DIA staff meetings and recommended campus trainings (e.g. Title IX symposiums, Health and Wellness trainings, etc.). • Other training and duties as assigned by the by Senior Associate Athletic Director, Sport Administration and Governance and Assistant Athletic Director, Compliance & Student-Athlete Services. | 10% | Rules Compliance | • Comply with all Federal, State, University and Department requirements established pursuant to Title IX, including the mandatory reporting requirements for a “Responsible Employee.” • The DIA is governed by the NCAA, Big Ten Conference, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and University of California System.
