POSITION SUMMARY | Under direct supervision of the Portfolio Operations Manager, perform various housekeeping duties. Sweep and mop the floors, collect and dispose of trash, clean and sanitize restrooms, re-stock supplies, dust and wax furniture, vacuum and shampoo carpets, wash walls and clean venetian blinds, perform floor restoration-strip and wax, and polish brass, chrome and other metal fixtures in restroom, offices and laboratories. Building Entrances, Garage and adjacent alley or streetway cleaning to be maintained on a daily basis. Maintain the highest quality of custodial service at a level consistent with University and department standards. Assume responsibility for securing all entry doors, inside office doors and report suspicious individuals or circumstances to Building Coordinator or to immediate supervisor. Follow all established safety practices and procedures. | | | |
Department Summary | The UCLA Asset Management Department provides full-service property management for University-owned high-rise office buildings in Westwood and downtown Los Angeles (Seven buildings containing over 2MSF, occupied by 150 primarily University tenants and generating $30M+ of rental income), and limited-service property management to 90 other University owned properties. |
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Maintenenace | 1.Operate vacuum cleaner, floor care machines, shampoo machine, wet/dry vacuums and a variety of sweeping/mopping/dusting tools related to a general cleaning operation; perform wall washing; operate electronic blowers. 2.Dust, clean, wax and/or polish furnishings, woodwork, light fixtures, venetian blinds. Vacuum rugs, draperies, upholstered furniture, other designated materials. 3.Sweep, mop, wax, dust, clean and/or polish floors, stairs, hallways, corridors, walls, moldings, outside steps, terraces, windowsills, garage and other designated areas. 4.Clean and/or disinfect restrooms, shower rooms and/or locker rooms with responsibility for replenishing supplies; polish metal fixtures. 5.Wash doors, partition glass, mirrors, showcases, glass panels. 6.Perform specialized cleaning in laboratories, shop areas and other designated areas. 7.Dust and clean radiators, grills, ducts, blackboards, filing cabinets and other designated equipment. 8.Assist in setting up and dismantling of special equipment and/or unload large trash receptacles. 9.Restock cleaning supplies and materials. Request supplies and equipment as needed from Principal Supervisor and/or Lead Custodian. 10. Assigned cleaning areas can vary as needed to support departmental needs throughout the portfolio. | 90% | Administrative Tasks | 1.
