POSITION SUMMARY | Under direct supervision of the Principal Supervisor, perform various housekeeping duties. Sweep and mop the floors, collect and dispose of trash, clean and sanitize restrooms, re-stock supplies, dust and wax furniture, vacuum and shampoo carpets, wash walls and clean venetian blinds, perform floor restoration-strip and wax, and polish brass, chrome and other metal fixtures in restroom, offices and laboratories. Maintain the highest quality of custodial service at a level consistent with University and department standards. Assume responsibility for securing all entry doors, inside office doors and report suspicious individuals or circumstances to campus police or to immediate supervisor. As needed, operate Facilities Management vehicles to transport materials to job site. Follow all established safety practices and procedures. | | | |
Department Summary | We provide Custodial Services for UCLA’s over 12.5 million combined state supported and client requested square footage. We cater to all areas of our University, including specialized areas such as vivarium, recreational facilities, wet and dry laboratories and patient care areas. To make this all run smoothly, it takes a team of dedicated and trained custodians to provide our customers with the highest level of service while meeting their needs 7 days a week. |

Operate vacuum cleaner, floor care machines, shampoo machine, wet/dry vacuums and a variety of sweeping/mopping/dusting tools related to a general cleaning operation; perform wall washing; operate electronic blowers. (E) 2. Dust, clean, wax and/or polish furnishings, woodwork, light fixtures, venetian blinds. Vacuum rugs, draperies, upholstered furniture, other designated materials.(E) 3. Sweep, mop, wax, dust, clean and/or polish floors, stairs, hallways, corridors, walls, moldings, outside steps, terraces, windowsills and other designated areas. (E) 4. Clean and/or disinfect restrooms, shower rooms and/or locker rooms with responsibility for replenishing supplies; polish metal fixtures. (E) 5.
