POSITION SUMMARY | The UCLA Depression Grand Challenge (DGC) seeks to hire an already certified STAND (Screening & Treatment for Anxiety & Depression) coach as a temporary employee for specific DGC projects in the role of STAND Certified Coach & Coordinator. The Coach/Coordinator will remotely support custom research and service implementations in a variety of settings including community colleges, UCLA, clinical settings, and/or new programs that may arise. The duties include providing orientation and coaching services to participants and supporting program operations and administration. The incumbent also will be trained to and provide support on the remote risk monitoring team, which may include providing after-hours (including weekend and holiday) risk coverage following specific protocols. Please note that only individuals who have been trained and certified as STAND Coaches by the Depression Grand Challenge are eligible for this position. | | | |
Department Summary | The UCLA Depression Grand Challenge is a groundbreaking campus priority that was established to cut the global burden of depression on human health and well-being in half by 2050. Established in 2015, UCLA is using an interdisciplinary approach leveraging its own expertise and collaborating with outside entities representing academic, government, philanthropic and industry sectors to bring new understanding and treatments to the greatest health challenge of the 21st Century. Currently, the DGC is focused on discovering the types and causes of depression, developing new treatments and putting new knowledge and strategies into practice. The STAND Coach positions support various research and service projects funded through both external and internal sources. |
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | COACHING SERVICES | 1. Using skills learned in STAND Coach Training program, provide orientation and coaching services to participants enrolled in one or more of the Depression Grand Challenge programs. Lessons and operational flows may vary by program. 2. Document services provided to participants in applicable tracking system. 3. Participate in supervision and training program sessions as requested by supervisor. | 50% | STAND PROGRAM SUPPORT & OTHER DUTIES | 1. Using expertise gained to become a certified STAND coach provide program support as assigned which might include any of the following duties: -support for the digital mental health program content development team in terms of project management, quality assurance review, workflow testing, editing, follow up, tracking, etc. 2. Support for one of the operational programs which might include: • outreach to participants, coaches and/or running and analyzing reports. • assistance with marketing efforts. • serving as a liaison between one or more teams involved with the program. | 30% | | 3.
