POSITION SUMMARY

The UCLA Center for Healthy Climate Solutions (C-Solutions) translates rigorous climate, health, and equity research into scalable policy, in alignment with community-led solutions. Working in close partnership with and at the direction of the Center Director, the Communications Manager serves as the Center's dedicated communications practitioner, a hands-on individual contributor who designs and produces the storytelling, content, campaigns, and public presence that carry the Center's research into policy impact. Central to this role is the ability to create accessible communications about health data and research that are credible across languages and cultures. C-Solutions works with and for the bilingual and bicultural communities of Los Angeles, who bear a disproportionate share of climate and health burdens. The Communications Manager develops and adapts materials fluently in both English and Spanish, not through literal translation alone, but with the cultural nuance, framing, and authenticity that build trust and make communications resonate with the communities the Center serves. Drawing on expertise across written, visual, digital, and electronic media, the Communications Manager develops and executes comprehensive long- and short-term strategic communications plans and builds the Center's brand to position it strategically among its partners and audiences. The role translates compounding climate hazards, air pollution risks identified through geospatial epidemiology, and health equity findings into clear, compelling narratives for policymakers, funders, partners, and community audiences alike. The Center is housed in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, consistently ranked among the top ten schools of public health in the United States.
