POSITION SUMMARY | Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Director of Population Health, or designee, and in accordance with protocols established by the Medical Director, the Registered Nurse provides safe, evidence-based clinical care at the Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center. The RN delivers patient care through in-person, telehealth, and digital platforms; administers immunizations; performs nursing services within the RN scope of practice; and supports population health through preventive care, care coordination, and identification of barriers to care. The RN serves as a clinical resource to Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Medical Assistants, supports immunization and infection prevention activities, and contributes to quality improvement efforts to ensure safe, equitable, and high-quality care. The RN supports operational and staffing needs, including coverage during extended hours, evenings, weekends, and other periods as assigned. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | In-Person Patient Care | Provides direct patient care under established clinical protocols. Delivers clinical services, including but not limited to health assessments, travel consultations, HIV PrEP, smoking cessation support, immunizations, TB screening, medication administration, and other ambulatory nursing services within the RN scope of practice. Provides care through existing and emerging clinical programs and care pathways in accordance with approved protocols and organizational priorities. Monitors for adverse reactions, coordinates follow-up care, and serves as liaison with specialists. Screens for Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), identifies barriers to care, connects patients with appropriate resources, and supports population health initiatives to improve equitable access and health outcomes. | 60% | Virtual Patient Care | Conducts e-visit clinical care through secure messaging and digital platforms using established clinical protocols. Provides consultation, assessment, treatment, and follow-up for clinical services, including but not limited to STI management, emergency contraception, health clearances, laboratory result management, and other virtual care services within the RN scope of practice. Supports existing and emerging virtual care pathways in accordance with approved clinical protocols. Ensures timely documentation and care coordination and incorporates population health principles by assessing SDOH, identifying barriers to care, facilitating referrals, and supporting preventive care and health equity. | 30% | Clinical Support and Training | Provides clinical support, onboarding, education, IV therapy, emergency response, quality improvement activities, and operational support for immunization and infection prevention programs.
