POSITION SUMMARY | The Business Systems Analyst Level 3 will provide support and analysis for Student Affairs Systems, which includes moderate-to-complex systems, but not limited to, Student Information Systems, Student Health Systems, Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS), Student Records Systems, Financial Aid Systems, Student Affairs Department Systems, and Student Affairs IT Systems, and will be applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions as they pertain to Student Information Systems. Develop a thorough and detailed test plans and coordinate full system and user tests and document results. Analyze and resolve production system problems in Student Affairs systems and campus systems. | | | |

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions | Function | Responsibilities | % Time | Business Systems Analysis | Conducts thorough systems analysis for moderate-to-complex systems like distributed systems, mainframe based systems, Student Affairs systems and campus systems but not limited to, Student Information Systems, Student Health Systems, Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS), Student Records, Student Affairs Department Systems, applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions in relation to Student Information Systems. This involves completing feasibility studies of proposed development projects, analyzing moderate-to-complex functional processes, developing overall system requirements and detailed system and programming specifications. Analyzes the impact of systems development on end-users, policies and procedures. Designs detailed system and programming specifications. | 10% | Business Systems Design | Create and maintain workflow diagrams and mock-ups based on models created from elicitation and discovery of business requirements, and communicate business reasons behind user-interface design decisions. Create and maintain user interface requirements in collaboration with developers and subject matter experts while adhering to user experience standards and best practices. Create and maintain moderate-to-complex business systems analysis artifacts, such as wireframes; use cases; traceability matrix; and process models; and applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Determine scope and participate in establishing priorities for process and system changes for moderate-to-complex systems in Student Affairs and campus. Elicit requirements using business process descriptions; use cases; business-system process analysis; task and workflow analysis; and applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. | 10% | Business Systems Maintenance | Evaluate requests for program, report, and database modifications/enhancements in Student Affairs and campus systems. Perform quality assurance testing of system configuration and application development efforts to ensure product adequately meets all functional needs and requirements defined in scope of project. Use thorough knowledge and experience in SQL as part of application and system development along with application and system change requests and support.
