POSITION SUMMARY | Under the direction of the IT Manager of the UCLA Police Department, the incumbent is responsible for the technical support and proper use of police department-specific enterprise business applications and systems, gathering requirements, data analysis, server management and support, query and report design, ensuring compliance with Criminal Justice Information Systems, as well as handling general support for end-user and department-managed computers, mobile devices, printers, and in-vehicle police-specific hardware. The incumbent will manage application support for numerous police department-specific applications. The incumbent will be responsible for updating police department-specific application user documentation with changes and enhancements to systems, and communicating changes to application business users. Work will be monitored through scheduled meetings, client feedback on support and services, written annual evaluations, and progress reports. | | | |

Provide intermediate technical and analytical support for the UCLA Police Department's IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, and systems governed by Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements. 2. Serve as an operational support resource, consulting with sworn and professional staff on technical details related to software platforms, law enforcement applications, and vendor-managed systems 3. Participate in troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of police department systems; resolve production problems involving desktop support, application performance, and connectivity issues (which may require driving a police vehicle marked as "out of service"). 4. Provide daily operational support for department systems, software applications, and servers, including configuration, access management, and compliance auditing for RMS, CAD, evidence management, and department file servers. 5. Provide direct end-user desktop support for department staff, including installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting of operating systems, productivity software, law enforcement tools, and secure communication platforms. 6. Administer departmental systems, servers, and virtual environments, perform regular maintenance, updates, and backups in accordance with university and CJIS security protocols. | 65% | Analysis and Documentation | 1.
