In addition to addressing the career needs of alumni, part of the mission of our Alumni Career Engagement (ACE) team is in overseeing a portfolio of campus partner programs where we work collaboratively with academic departments campus-wide in supporting the career development of students. As our Associate Director, you will lead the execution and facilitation of several of our signature campus partner programs, including but not limited to the Sharpe Fellows Program, Guest Lecturers, Office Treks, and career development courses, like Careers in Humanities.  While your primary focus will be programmatic and constituent support, you will also provide professional coaching and consultation as needed. This role facilitates student programs, such as student internship and job search training, application and selection processes, alumni speakers & panels, and student career development programs. As our Associate Director, you will work closely with faculty stakeholders, student participants, alumni volunteers, and employer partners. You will support alumni-oriented career programming by collaborating on meaningful career content and engagement opportunities for Bruins to hire Bruins, develop their skills, build professional confidence, and share their expertise. You will also facilitate the execution of student and alumni events at UCLA, locally, nationally and virtually.  This is a great opportunity to make a difference and strengthen the Bruin network while receiving hands-on experience and resources to grow your career. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Campus Partner Programs Management and Execution

1. Collaboratively review/assess program/content effectiveness; suggest changes/future strategies to improve and innovate campus partner programs.

 

2. Identify, engage and train, appropriate alumni to support student career development; lead committee meetings; facilitate mentorship programs and manage comprehensive inception to execution speaker logistics, including briefings, vetting, on-site hosting; provide speakers with pre- and post-event stewardship and gratitude engagement.

 

3. Research newest industry trends; career development theories and strategies. With Director, set yearly schedule of campus partner programs and events.

 

4. Meet regularly with faculty partners. Lead planning meetings, build collaborative relationships, and communicate status of projects.

5. Schedule surveys; conduct meetings with stakeholders/particularly students; assess program effectiveness.

 

6. Research, write, and edit content to educate on array of professional development/career advancement topics. Schedule speaker events, create presentation materials and implement training sessions.

 

7. Design, prepare, organize, deliver and provide overall management of program and student communications/events and associated materials. Manage all phases of high-volume student application and selection processes from initial interviews to calculating scoring and deliberations; disseminate materials and communicate expectations and timelines for student programs.

8. Source, identify, and correspond with employers and alumni for company visits. Research relevant companies and individuals. Represent the organization with professional behavior and manage logistics.

 

9. Track program related data and provide reporting to constituents as appropriate; generate quick data reports upon request/collaboratively create new reports when needed.

 

10. Manage customer service experience for students and alumni participants.

 

11. Organize, plan and manage program logistics for all aspects of assigned campus partner programs and events. Manage logistics and tasks to ensure adherence to unit/UCLA event planning/execution processes and a successful event.

 

12. Hold individual or group coaching meetings to address student/alumni internship or job process topics.

1. Research, write, edit content to inform UCLA alumni community on a variety of professional development/career advancement topics.

 

2. Work with marketing/social media colleagues to determine/utilize appropriate channels, to further reach of content/resources.

 

3. Conduct individual coaching sessions for alumni when requested.

 

4. Implement and execute in-person events or virtual webinars; create timeline and scripts for participants, speakers and technical staff. 

 

5. Participate in continuing education and staff development activities.

 

6. Facilitate logistical/communication support for programs, events & initiatives for alumni, at UCLA, locally, regionally, nationally, in-person and virtually.

1. Develop/implement strategies to streamline, operationalize and scale campus partner programs while maximizing alumni engagement.

 

2. Engage and vet employers for alumni and students; identify opportunities to promote Bruins for all industry positions/opportunities.

 

3. Identify new departments to pitch campus partner programs maximizing alumni engagement as business development opportunity.

 

4. Build relationships across campus and externally with employers, companies, and alumni that can serve career interests of alumni.

 

5. Collect, maintain and leverage accurate records on alumni, volunteer participation, student information and industry representatives; produce reports for growth efforts/updating dashboards.
