POSITION SUMMARY | The Fully Employed MBA (FEMBA), Executive MBA (EMBA), UCLA-NUS Global Executive MBA (UCLA-NUS)programs at the UCLA Anderson School of Management are nationally-recognized, self-supporting degree programs that serve approximately 1,200 students, all of whom are working professionals at different stages of their careers. The Executive Director of Admissions for the professional MBA programs has managerial responsibility for the admissions staff and the entire admissions lifecycle for all three programs, such as: marketing, recruiting, and operations. In addition to managing day-to-day admissions operations, this role partners with program leadership to set and execute the strategic direction of the admissions department. The Executive Director regularly reports on admissions progress and outcomes, using data and industry insights to refine strategies in response to the school's evolving goals and the changing higher education landscape. The Executive Director will be responsible for growing the applicant pools and ensuring the annual enrollment of full cohorts of qualified students.. This will be accomplished through a combination of outreach, communication, application evaluation, data analysis, and collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and alumni. The Executive Director will also lead and represent the school at admissions events, both on-campus and off-campus (primarily the West Coast). The Executive Director is the most senior external facing admissions team member and is expected to be a main point of contact throughout the admissions lifecycle for any internal and external stakeholder. This role plays an integral part in evaluating applications and in crafting balanced and dynamic cohorts. The position will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of a strong yield strategy, this may be accomplished through counseling of admitted and waitlisted students and by holding "yield" events.. Additional responsibilities include overseeing various admissions committees, conducting applicant interviews, and verifying academic and professional eligibility. This role is also responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of the team, leading an admissions team of ~10 staff who are at various professional levels. Admissions budget oversight, including forecasting and monitoring expenditures to ensure adherence to the budget. It's critical for success to work collaboratively with other departments within the professional programs and with other teams such as Full-time MBA admissions, marketing, finance and UCLA Graduate Division. The Executive Director is expected to represent the programs at professional industry conferences, showcasing UCLA Anderson's strengths and developing strong peer school connections. The Executive Director of GEMBA, EMBA, and FEMBA Admissions supervises the work of the Executive/Fully-Employed MBA Admissions Team and works in collaboration with the Alumni Engagement Officer EMBA/FEMBA and the Student Affairs and Career teams. (E) Devise strategies to enhance the prominence and status of the UCLA Anderson professional MBA programs and to maintain/improve the caliber, integrity, and professionalism of all three student bodies. (E) Counsel potential applicants and provide assistance to inquiries in person, by phone, and via email regarding general information about the programs or on admission policies and procedures. (E) Connect potential applicants with necessary resources depending on their needs, such as career coaching, financial aid, or current student/alumni advice. (E) Develop and execute recruitment strategies to expand and strengthen the applicant pool across priority markets and professional segments. (E) Conduct on- and off-campus information sessions for prospective applicants; arrange tours of the Anderson School and UCLA campus; arrange classroom visits and lunches with current students; invite top-tier applicants to speaker events and other appropriate Anderson student activities. (E) Consult with prospective and current students to provide guidance, address inquiries, and facilitate the resolution of any challenges or conflicts. (E) Lead the development of innovative upper-funnel marketing initiatives—such as referral programs, corporate partnerships, and cross-department collaborations—to expand the prospective student pool. (E) Conduct appropriate student surveys to analyze data and student comments to improve outreach efforts of the professional MBA programs. (E) Maintain contact with professional MBA students and alumni to stay abreast of their academic progress, career development, and other significant life/work changes; analyze collected data and use to formulate marketing and recruiting strategies. (E) Utilize networking, marketing, public relations, and direct outreach to promote the professional MBA programs and improve their reputation. (E) Oversee the implementation of annual marketing plans for the professional MBA programs and help to assign advertising mix and spend. (E) Work closely with Anderson Marketing and Communications staff to create marketing content to attract and enroll qualified applicants. (E) Oversee the strategy and management of the admissions information on the Anderson School's external and internal websites; as needed, write content and ensure that the website is attractive, has all pertinent and accurate information for prospective applicants and admitted applicants; ensure that the website is easily navigable and current. (E) Work with UCLA Anderson's social media and public relations staff to identify opportunities for social posts and positive media coverage about the professional MBA programs, students, and/or alumni. (E) Consult with faculty, students, staff and alumni to develop targeted marketing opportunities and new recruiting strategies; recruit faculty, students, staff and alumni to represent the professional MBA programs to prospective applicants. (E) Provide faculty, students, staff and alumni with admissions documents and information to assist them in marketing the professional MBAprograms and in recruiting applicants. (E) Evaluate and read applications, deliver recommendations on admissions decisions. (E) Conduct probing interviews, determine professional eligibility and overall suitability for program requirements. (E) Oversee Faculty Committee engagement, providing training, resources, and support to enable informed and consistent candidate evaluations.
